Comment from Mr.
Barten:
“ The race lived
up to pre-event hype, riders got to experience mud, grass, gravel, grit, blood,
sweat and tears on a wonderful evening with perfect riding conditions.
Plans are to make the Hell of Greenfield III even longer and harder,
continuously increasing the punishment inflicted on the participants until more
riders show up.”

Greenfield II May, 8, 2012
Longer, harder
and more confusing. Indeed.
Temp 63, wind
5mph from the north.
Ride summary
Barten played
it cool and rode at a slightly more relaxed pace for the mountain bike segment
then upped the speed when he saw Matthiesen making a move on the first gravel
out-and-back. Smith was the nice guy and stayed close to Ed in case he
had another chain break. But you know what they say about nice
guys. The only one crying at the end was Matthiesen who was foamed up
like a rabid dog. Kate got a little closer to doing the actual course.
