Scott
is 2 for 2 with decisive win in Medina:
(Nicknaming

Coming
off last weeks win on the Iron Butterfly - Scott continued his winning ways in
Medina this week. On a blustery day with threatening clouds, 8 Rotts
gathered to fight the 58 degree temperature, and the 20 mph winds out of
the West.
Actually
there were only 7 riders at the start, as Scott was only "a threat"
to show up (as he sent his wife ahead to warn the already anxious group of
riders). Just a mere 1:15 before his departure time - he confidently
skidded up to next to Ranger Barten - the last of the riders in the start gate
at that point - and asked for directions.
Up
the road a little ways, all the other riders were resting their chins on the
areobars, trying their best to get beneath the battering headwind.
Schoo for one could not help smiling - thinking of areobar-less Barten sitting
upright like a sheet of plywood in the wind. This wind had to be to
his advantage he thought...
As
the stories have it...Schoo eventually passed the Craiginator just before
reaching Medina, and fought the passback all the way to the finish. Scott
was able to pass Barten on the downhill after the cemetary - but Barten
rallied for a passback on the subsequent climb. The rally was short
lived, as Scott once again took the lead for good on the next decent.
When
the ride ended, Scott dominated, and Schoo barley held on to 2nd place over the
areobar-less Barten. Klima was headed to drown his sorrows in an
alcoholic beverage of his choice, while Hokie quickly departed (without
providing a time) to dump overflowing wheelbarrows, so the cash machine could
continue to flow. Barten complained of being in 3rd place again if
the new guy Scott continued to show - asking Schoo how he could do such a thing
as to invite fast people?
It's
all part of a bigger strategy...as I'm proud to announce that Team General
Mills tied the race this week...26 to 26!!!
